Apex CMS v4 Released

April 2008 sees Wizzy Design's Content Management System (CMS) rebranded and updated with a host of new features. Now called 'Apex', CMS version 4 introduces these major new features:

• Versioning of content
  See the version history of each page and sidebar. Each version is tagged with the name of the author, the date and notes on the update.
• Staging of content
  Choose which version of a page or sidebar is visible to the public. Make multiple draft versions before publishing. Roll back to a previous version.
• Whole-page overview and click-to-edit
  All the elements that make up a page (content, sidebars, navigation, custom panels etc) are now brought together in a single overview with a thumbnail representation of the published page. Simply click a panel on the thumbnail to edit that part of the page.
• Cross-browser text editing
  The text editor is now compatible with most major browsers on PC, Linux and Mac.
• Newsletter authoring
  Create and send newsletters direct to a Wizzy Design mailing list without leaving the admin area. Use the website user database to generate the mailing list recipients.
• Redesigned admin area
  All admin pages have been updated to provide a consistent look and feel.
• Custom admin shortcuts and recent history
  The redesigned admin area has a customisable shortcut menu so you can easily access your most frequently used features, as well as your most recent page updates.
• Upload multiple images and documents
  The improved upload area allows up to 20 files to be transferred from your computer to the CMS system in one go. Each image can be resized as it is uploaded.
